Day in the life in a informal settlement

 I wake up and go to school cold and sick.It was raining yesterday and my shack could not handle it so well.Im at school and I don’t have lunch again so the school gives me food.I enter the classroom the teacher does roll call and all of us are here she reads 60 names and counts 60 students.There are only 20 textbooks in the class so we have to share.The school day ended with me having to walk back home.

I hope that my family gets enough money for my education and that we can by a new house and have enough money to by new clothes that’s  why I work hard.

I see at the Khoza's house there having fun and there happy and in their shack.I  return home and I do my homework in my room.My mom returned from work she’s sad and tired i feel her pain .She has to take 3 buses to get home and she is tired.I have to live with my 2 brothers and 3 cousins.I am the oldest in my family I’m 15 years old.My family gets food and clothes from my moms boss and it does a lot.Nothing here is expensive especially food and hair cuts they cost so little even though people go to the there stores a lot.Now you know how I live I hope you don’t judge but help.
